A Wake Up Call

I firmly believe that God is using the current upheaval in the world to hold a mirror up to the Church so that we can confront the true nature of our hearts. How devoted are we to Him? What are the false gods we have erected that drain our time, energy, and resources away from the Kingdom? How far removed has the Body of Christ become from the Church model we see in the book of Acts?

The enemy of God has taken full advantage of the issues created by COVID-19 to bring even greater strife and disunity to an already fractured Church. Pastors have turned against pastors. Social media is filled with Christians bitterly arguing with each other. The people of God have become disconnected from their local churches, and no longer even bother to watch online services. Those fellowships which have reopened their doors are seeing a fraction of the attendees they formerly hosted.

“All the believers were united in heart and mind. And they felt that what they owned was not their own, so they shared everything they had.  The apostles testified powerfully to the resurrection of the Lord Jesus, and God’s great blessing was upon them all.” – Acts 4:32-33 (NLT)

The chief characteristics of the early Church were love for one another, unity in spirit, and the manifestation of the power of Holy Spirit moving through believers. Sadly, the American Church in 2020 displays those traits in pitifully small measure, if at all. The good news is it is not too late for us to step into our destiny, and become who we were born to be. Today we are receiving our wake-up call. This is our opportunity for us as the Bride of Christ to rise from the ashes in one accord, and regain the stature of holiness and boldness which our Bridegroom desires.

My plea to Heaven during Global Days of Prayer is for every person who calls themselves by His name to receive a fresh filling of Holy Spirit this Pentecost Sunday. I pray for a greater anointing, fresh oil, and new wine to be poured out upon you and overflow to saturate every area of your life. I pray that Pentecost 2020 becomes that moment in your one life when everything changes, and comes into alignment with the perfect will of the Father.

Join us this Pentecost Sunday in the house of prayer and see what mighty wonders the Lord wants to release for you and your family. God bless you and keep you.
