Dying In The Secret Place

Let’s just call it what it is. When we say yes to Jesus, we say yes to our own death. We aren’t meeting with Jesus each day to check it off a list.

Now I would remind you, brothers, of the gospel I preached to you, which you received, in which you stand, and by which you are being saved, if you hold fast to the word I preached to you—unless you believed in vain.

1 Corinthians 15:1-2

We are being saved. Hopefully we are dying a thousand deaths to our selves and being awakened to ‘as Jesus is, so am I’ (1 John 4:17). The secret place is the gentle Shepherd killing our desires day after day. In the secret place, we live in repentance, having our minds renewed, and letting His desires become our desires. 2 Corinthians 3:18 essentially tells us that we become what we behold. Each day of being with Jesus, sitting at His feet, learning to know Him, we are becoming more like Him. Over time, people will begin to ask you about it. They will notice you are different. People will notice you don’t react like others, live like others, parent like others, work like others, interact like others….and you will testify of your death in the secret place. God longs to kill you so He can raise up an image of Jesus in the earth. Invite, and even enjoy, the process of transformation He longs to do in us in the secret place.
