LOVE OTHERS is a way to organize and share the love of Jesus in our community. Jesus said life was all about loving Him and then, from that overflow, love others. That is how we spread The Gospel, by loving first. Whether it’s a yard project for a widow, blessing teachers in our schools with cards and snacks, or donating socks to a homeless shelter, we are going to find many ways to show love - together as a church family.

We know that the love of Jesus is irresistible, so He will give us many opportunities to pray, minister, and share His good news along the way! The love of Jesus is the answer to every problem we all face, so let’s go spread the love!

What is a LOVE OTHERS Day?

Our LOVE OTHERS days are church wide, organized days to take the love of Jesus to our community! We will be spreading the love we have for Jesus in tangible, practical ways. There will be projects big & small throughout the year where we get to show people that we love them. We encourage families to bring their children to work along side them on the projects. This is a family ministry!

When is the next LO Day?

October 8th at Eternal Life Harvest Center

We are so excited to partner with Eternal Life Harvest Center of Knoxville to host a Mobile Food Pantry for our neighbors! This is an event that the whole family can participate in. Whether you are young or hold, there is a place for YOU to serve.

COMMON QUESTIONS

What is LO outreach?

LOVE OTHERS is an opportunity to love and bless people in our city with no strings attached! Jesus said simply, “love God and love others”. We desire to spread the love of God to others individually and corporately. We will spread the love of God in tangible ways through organized projects throughout our city.

Can children participate in LO Days?

We want young and old to join together! Children who are old enough to help in projects like, helping deliver food boxes or doing some simple yard work, can go out on the projects with a parent. We will always have a team of people who stay at the church for a project for families with smaller children or those who are not able to do physical labor.

How long will the LO Day be?

We will have projects big and small that happen throughout the year. Our Saturday, church-wide events will be about 1/2 a day. Our volunteers should be headed back home by 1pm after lunch!

What kind of projects will we do on LO Day?

The list of options is endless! Blessings like thank you notes, dropping off food boxes, prayer walking our city streets, doing yard projects, garbage clean up, and projects for school playgrounds, taking up items for homeless shelters/crisis pregnancy centers/schools/non-profit ministries, building ramps for the handicap, and blessing international students in our area.

Can I suggest a project for LO Day?

Absolutely! We will pray and discuss any suggestions given to our team. Email your project to contact@thegatheringfamily.com and we will consider your suggestion.

Are LO projects targeting The Gathering Church members?

No, any need in our city that we can address is our desire! We want to bless anyone God lays on our hearts to bless.

How can I help on the LO leadership team?

We are looking for those who have a heart that loves to serve! Email contact@thegatheringfamily.com and let us know you are interested in being on the team!
